Judy Mozen, president of Roswell-based Handcrafted Homes, Inc., has been named “Woman of the Year” at the Women in Residential Construction’s (WIRC) annual conference in Scottsdale, Az. Mozen, a pioneering woman business owner in the male-dominated remodeling and construction industries, was honored for her “exceptional integrity, industry involvement, quality performance, and inclusive action”, according to WIRC.

“It is extremely gratifying to be honored by this prestigious organization of women,” said Mozen. “I am proud that WIRC has highlighted my ongoing commitment to bringing more women, young adults and people of color into the home remodeling and construction industries.”

Mozen has served in a number of industry leadership roles throughout her 40-plus years as a home remodeler. She has been an active member of the Atlanta chapter of NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) since 2004, and held several offices at the organization’s national level, including Secretary, Treasurer, President and Board Chair. A NARI Certified Remodeler and Green Certified Professional, she is also an EarthCraft Builder and EarthCraft Remodeler. Mozen is a sought-after speaker on opportunities for women and minorities in construction, and participated in the opening panel discussion of “Bringing Women into the Trades” at the 2018 WIRC’s national convention.
